How is THC-O Made?

THC-O is a fully synthesized cannabinoid, meaning that it does not occur in nature. It is produced by taking THCA, the acidic and raw precursor to THC, and blending it with acetic anhydride after heating it to activate its properties. This creates a powerful THC-O concentrate that can then be added to other ingredients to produce various products.

Is THC-O Dangerous?

Due to its potency combined with it being synthetic, many are concerned about trying THC-O. THC-O is definitely a powerful cannabinoid, but it’s actually not the most psychoactive on the market. THC-O, like delta 9 THC, is metabolized by THC-COOH, and the high potency of the cannabinoid actually means you may be more likely to fail a drug test than you would be had you taken delta 9. If you are drug-tested regularly, THC-O should be avoided.
