CBD-Infused Fall Recipes for Your Furry Friend

Posted by David Nadel on Jan 05, 2022

Now that the Fall is in full swing, many of us are hard at work in the kitchen whipping up the tastiest seasonal dishes with flavors like pumpkin, apple, and warm spices. But, our furry friends are missing out on all the festivities if we’re not making them some fall-flavored treats as well. At The Calm Leaf, we have many customers who use CBD Pet Oil to make DIY edibles for their beloved companions, and that inspired us to come up with some CBD-infused recipes that capture the flavors of the season.

How Much Pet CBD Oil Should Go into a Recipe?

There is a dosage chart for the different types of Pet CBD Oils that work according to your pet’s needs.

Low Dosage (100mg-150mg): Appropriate daily amount for cats and small breeds of dogs.

Moderate Dosage (200mg-450mg): Appropriate daily amount for medium-sized dog breeds and pets with more advanced needs.

High Dosage (500mg-750mg): Appropriate daily amount for large dog breeds and pets whose veterinarians have suggested high dosages.

Extra Strength Dosage (800mg-900mg): Appropriate daily amount for massive dog breeds and pets whose veterinarians have suggested high dosages.

To figure out how much Pet CBD Oil to put in one of the recipes below, consider their recommended daily serving amount and multiply that by the number of servings that each recipe produces. This way, each individual treat delivers the ideal daily amount of CBD.

Pumpkin Turkey Cat Treats

Yes, our cats can get in on the fall action too. These treats are made with pumpkin and turkey, two highly nutritious foods for your kitty that appeal highly to their taste buds.

Ingredients:

  • 7oz pumpkin puree
  • 2.5oz cooked boneless and skinless turkey, chopped finely into a mince
  • Enough gelatin to set 3 ounces of liquid (read your gelatin package instructions)
  • Pet CBD Oil

Preparation:

  1. Drain the pumpkin as much as possible by placing it into a cheesecloth and squeezing the liquid out.
  2. Check the instructions on your gelatin package to determine whether or not the gelatin needs to be bloomed ahead of time. If so, follow the instructions carefully.
  3. Combine the turkey, pumpkin, gelatin, and CBD oil into a small saucepan and cook on low until the gelatin fully melts. Take off of the heat.
  4. After about 10 minutes, the mixture will cool, and you can start forming small balls. How many portions you get depends on the size of the balls that you create.
  5. Place them on a baking sheet to let them set, which can take 8 to 12 hours.
