The X3 is Sweet Wax flagship cartridge, with potency over 80% and effectiveness like you wouldn’t believe. They've been trying to make this puppy happen for the better part of a year, but they kept running into one pesky little snag: Chemistry. (What a jerk, amirite?)
Turns out the CBD molecule is really big and likes to crystallize at concentrations over 60%, and there isn’t a dang thing you can do about it. Any attempts to make a cartridge stronger than their game-changing X2 ended up with wax that would turn into CBD rock candy, get stuck halfway up the cartridge, refuse to flow down into the intake holes, and make us really sad.
But fear not! For we found a way.

This bad boy is the grooviest 510-thread-compatible cartridge battery you’ll ever see. It’s got all the main features of their super-rad FTP Elite battery plus an awesome warming chamber that ensures even the thickest, most crystallized cartridges can flow and provide a consistent vaping experience.
Now you can try to use the X3 cartridge with a regular battery, but be warned – the cartridge has to be kept upright at all times or the wax will get stuck, and it might get stuck anyway. You should probably be ready to bust out a hair dryer to melt the wax down a bit just in case. If dealing with all that noise isn’t your jam, go up one paragraph and we’ve got you covered.
To reiterate: For best results, use the X3 cartridge with the EliteHEAT battery only.
We do not recommend using any other battery with this cartridge. It will probably not end well.
X3 Cartridge & Battery Instructions
Items needed:
- X3 Cartridge
- EliteHEAT Battery
- Preheat chamber (separated from battery)

Step 1: Turn on the battery, if it’s not on already. Click the button 5 times really fast (one-two-three-four-five, within 1 second).
Step 2: Ensure the battery is set to the correct voltage setting – we recommend starting with white and going up from there. To cycle voltages, triple-tap the button (one-two-three, within 1 second): White – Blue – Green – Red – reset (White)
Step 3: Screw the cartridge onto the battery threads. Make sure the airflow holes are open (this is important).
Step 4: Slide the preheat chamber over the cartridge and screw it onto the battery.
Step 5: If the wax is solid – looks like tiny rock candy crystals, doesn’t flow at all – Do Not Panic; this is what you got the EliteHEAT for.
Double-tap the button to start a preheat cycle, which lasts for 90 seconds if you let it do its thing. You’ll see the color change on the button as it goes – this is the voltage increasing every 30 seconds to fully heat the cartridge. So cool, right?!
If the weather is cold, the A/C is bumping, or you’re in a walk-in refrigerator (we don’t judge) you might actually want a second warming cycle to fully liquefy the X3. This is some gnarly-thick wax, it’s just the nature of the beast. Still beats sitting there with a hair dryer.
Step 6: It’s vaping time! Hold down the button while inhaling through the cartridge tip. If this is your first X3, start with small puffs. Again…gnarly-thick wax. Treat it with respect.
Step 7 (optional): Once you’re done, turn off the battery by repeating step 1.
How It's Made
Master Batch Extraction Using Supercritical CO2
The delicate extraction process to get FTP’s amazing CBD begins at their suppliers’ certified GMP facilities. Supercritical CO2 is pumped through the hemp plant material to collect the first step of extraction, the dark master batch – this is the foundation from which all their products are born. The master batch is 100% full-spectrum, and lab tested at every level before moving into the next steps of distillation and winterization. The master batch extract at this level is very dark, thick and nutrient dense.
Grade 1 Distillation
Every step of distillation from this point on "condenses" the extract and brings the percentage of CBD higher. See on the lab results how the CBD content goes up from the master batch. Distillation condenses the thick extract allowing stronger CBD percentages as we move up the ladder.
Dark Raw
At this step we have FTP’s Dark Raw, used to make their tinctures, salve, and softgels. This dark raw is packed full of natural plant nutrients, and as you can see the CBD content has gone up due to grade 1 distillation while still keeping THC content below the legal limit of 0.3%. It takes over 2 grams of master batch raw to make just 1 gram of dark raw.
Grade 2 Distillation
X1 - Blonde Raw
This level of distillation condenses the dark raw further, filtering out most of the darker plant material to create a perfect, vape-able raw wax, now a beautiful blonde color. This is what they use in their original X1 30% wax cartridges. Again, see on the lab results how the CBD content goes up again due to grade 2 distillation while still keeping THC content below the legal limit of 0.3%. It takes almost 2 grams of dark raw to make just 1 gram of their blonde raw.
Grade 3 Distillation
X2 - Amber Raw
This level of distillation condenses the blonde raw even further to a rich amber color. This amber raw is used to make their powerful X2 cartridges. CBD at this 65% level is extremely potent and can crystallize from time to time. This happens because CBD is a large molecule and wants to crystallize at high levels. See again on the lab results how the CBD content has risen drastically due to grade 3 distillation while still keeping THC content well below the legal limit of 0.3%. It takes roughly 2.5 grams of X1 blonde to make just 1 gram of X2 amber raw.
Grade 4 Distillation
X3 - Gold Raw
Here we basically have Grade 3 distillation on steroids. By utilizing state-of-the-art technology, hemp extract can be refined well past 80% CBD while still PRESERVING some of the phytonutrients from the original plant and reducing THC to nondetectable levels. This highly crystallized, SUPER CONCENTRATED wax is used in their X3 and XN cartridges; their X3 likes to turn to rock candy (which is why they only recommend using it with the EliteHEAT battery), but CBN stays liquid which keeps the XN nice and flowy with 70+% cannabinoids. It takes about 1.5 grams of X2 AMBER RAW to make 1 gram of our X3 GOLD RAW.
