Banger Diameter

You will generally find 3 sizes:10mm, 14mm, and 19mm. The diameter of your banger has a lot to do with the quality of your dab hits since it affects the ratio of your concentrates to empty space, thus determining the airflow which changes the concentration of vapor in terms of thickness, flavor and potency, while again, also affecting how evenly the dabs get heated.

Typically, 14mm is the most popular by far, because it seems to generally offer the best flavor, potency and smoothness on the inhale. Thin bangers are ideal for high-temp dabs – 450 degrees or higher – because they get hot really fast, and also can reach that super high temperature easily. The heat will, however, decrease faster, so you may need to reheat it at some point during your dabbing session.

Thicker Bangers (4mm)

A thicker banger is ideal for low temperature dabbing – up to about 450 degrees – because it can retain heat for longer between dab hits, and because it takes longer to heat, you are less likely to accidentally overheat it. There are bangers that go thicker than 4mm, but these are hard to find and extremely niche.

Hybrid Bangers

A hybrid banger refers to a banger that has a wall and base thickness that doesn’t match. These are not overly common but do exist if this is something you’re looking for. A banger with a 4mm base and 2mm wall lets you enjoy low-temp dabbing while the thinner wall helps the banger cool down a little faster. You’re less likely to come across a banger that has a 4mm wall and a 2mm base, although they do exist, and what they’re best at is trapping heat for a long time so that you really maintain the ideal temperature throughout your dabbing session.
